Erman Bostan was born in 1984 in Istanbul. After graduating from Theater Criticism and Dramaturgy at Istanbul University, his master degree in cinema at Marmara University completed with the thesis "New Turkish Cinema in the 2000s". He wrote reviews and research articles in various periodicals. He completed his doctorate with the thesis titled ‘’Film interpretation in 21st century digital culture: A Ricœuryan method’’ at Anadolu University.

He worked as an acting coach and assistant director in the cinema-TV industry. He also directs short films and music videos. The Witch, his first feature film project, won the Film Standards Post-Production Award at Antalya Film Forum 2020 and the "First Feature Film Production Support" from the General Directorate of Cinema in Turkey. The Witch will be screening at April 26 2024.
